History of Nana's Sweets & Treats
Nana was born in 1930 and grew up in west Texas farming community with five siblings. Her father was a dry land farmer during one of the toughest economic times in our country's history. The family had no luxuries but was blessed with extraordinary family love. The family's luxury was the homemade sweets and treats her mother made and shared with their extended family and friends.
Through this experience, Nana learned to make some of the finest, if not the finest, sweets and treats in the world. Nana married her childhood sweetheart in 1948. They raised four children as a modest middle class family but were rich with the blessings of love. On all the special occasions, Nana could not afford to buy gifts for everyone so instead she sent the extended family and friends her fabulous homemade sweets and treats. This gave much joy to all those who received them and all looked forward to them every year.
